SUBJECT : SMFA Note on Collections of Contributions/donations for charity

We wish to inform you that the Embassy has received a Note from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign
Affairs stating that "all Embassies have to ask permission from the MFA and to coordinate with the
Protocol Section of the Ministry before holding any activity for the purpose of collecting contributions
for charity and relief or opening boxes for collecting contributions in the chancery."
The Note also urged Embassies "to wait for issuance of an approval before starting the contributions
campaign, provided that the contributions will be limited to their nationals."
In this connection, it would be appreciated if you could inform the Embassy earlier if you wish to hold
an activity with the same purpose.
For your information and appropriate action.
